Tioman Island, you know, it's like, really a small paradise in Malaysia. I had never been there before, but some friends told me about this place, so I wanted to try it out. They said the island is good for snorkeling, diving and, you know, just to relax. But what I didn't expect was the chance to rent an ATV, or All Terrain Vehicle.

So, when I saw this option to do some off-road adventure, I thought, why not? I have always liked the motor sports, like, not professionally, but just for fun. This was my chance to do something different on the holiday. I rented the ATV from the company there on Tioman Island. It was easy, I just had to fill in some papers and pay, not too expensive, I would say, for the experience you get.

The ATV, it is like a small car but more fun because it can go on many different types of ground. We drove on the beach, in the forest and also on some rocky paths. It wasn't difficult to drive. Even if you're not a professional, you can handle it. The person from the rental company, he gave us a short lesson on how to use it before we started. It was very helpful because, you know, safety first, especially when you're on an island and medical help is not always nearby.

I have to say, driving the ATV was amazing. The speed, the ATV unleashed like a raging bull, the howling engine, it gives you a feeling of utter freedom. I felt like a child again, playing in nature. The views were also incredible. From some of the higher points, you can see the ocean and it's really beautiful, especially because it's so blue. I even stopped to take some pictures, although they cannot really show how awesome it felt to be there. I guess you really have to experience it in person yourself to understand.

But, let me be clear, it is not so suitable if you prefer a very smooth ride. The terrain is pretty bumpy now and again and for sure you'll get covered in dirt, dust, little stones etc. But for me, it's all part of the fun. Then again, if you're not into this kind of thing, it might not be too fun for you. Also, it can be a little bit tiring because the bumps and the crazy ATV take quite a bit of energy to keep everything in control. Basically, you have to stay focused, or you might collide with stuff.

sStill, in the end, I was very happy with the experience. It was something new for me and I think it is worth every Ringgit. If you like adventure and you don't mind getting a little bit dirty, then I definitely recommend trying it. Tioman Island is not just about the beach and the sea; there is so much more to do. And who knows, maybe I'll come back one day, not just for the ATV, but for all the other things I didn't have time to try. Maybe next time, I'll bring more friends with me...

So if you're French and you're thinking about going to Tioman, I would say, go for it. The island has a lot to offer and the people are very nice. Plus, you can always find some good French food in Malaysia if you start to miss it. But for the adventure, nothing beats the local activities like this ATV ride. It's an experience you'll not forget. Bien sûr : )
